Consulting for the Wine Trade
Having completed 21 harvests in three different countries I have accumulated a vast knowledge of different winemaking and viticultural practices. Having worked with over 33 different grape varieties including popular Vitis Vinifera, French Hybrids, Cornell Crosses as well as several ancient, indigenous Hungarian varieties. I have worked with starting wineries at the 1000 case level all the way up the ladder to over 250,000 case, well established wineries.
I offer my clients a wide range of services. Most importantly: winery layout, wine styles, correcting wine faults, preventing wine faults, producing top Award Winning wines, as well as continued short or long term support. Included below are a sampling of my consulting fees:
One Time Blocks
Primarily, I offer this service to the winery owner to help them define their style, assess their current winemaking practices and to improve the wines. I help to answer questions like “Why are my wines failing to receive VQA Approval?”
2 Hour Block
- minimum time available, usually meant for initial introduction
- give a quick snapshot of what it is the winery wants help with
4 Hour Block
- allows for more time to determine how I can help
8 Hour Block
On Going Consulting
Consulting fees to be negotiated on the individual tailored needs of each winery. I am available to work with clients on a regular, more long-term basis with or without using a retainer set up. Ongoing consulting can also be done by the winery choosing different One Time Blocks when needed.
